Stacey L. Janssen, returned to her own practice in 2022, founding Janssen Estate, Probate & Elder Law, LLC, practicing in the areas of estate planning, probate administration, fiduciary litigation, elder and disability law, practicing in both Kansas and Missouri. Ms. Janssen co-founded the Kansas Elder Law Hotline, which continues to serve thousands of Kansas and their families yearly. Ms. Janssen is a frequent speaker at community and continuing legal education event speaking on the topics of estate planning, Medicaid, probate, and ethics. She is a member of the Estate Planning Society of Kansas City, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Johnson County Bar Association Board of Directors, former Chair of the Johnson County Probate Bench Bar Committee, member of the Elder and Disability Issues and Legal Aid committees of the Kansas Bar Association, a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas Women Attorneys Association, the Association of Women Lawyers, the Earl O'Connor Inn of Court, the National Academy of the Elder Law Attorneys and a founding member and officer in the Kansas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Janssen has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Art History from the University of Kansas, 1985, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas, 1988. Ms. Janssen currently serves as the chair of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association's Probate Committee and serves as Secretary to their board of directors. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer, Best of the Bar and in 2021 received the KCBMA's Distinguished Counselor Award. She also serves as a volunteer and board member for several area faith based and nonprofit agencies. Ms. Janssen lives in Mission, Kansas, and has three children, one dog and two cats.
